How important is truth in business? You have probably just answered in your mind that truth is very important in business. Did you know that there are two types of truth in the business world?

The first type of truth is that with which we are all familiar; it could probably be called truth in the courtroom; the kind of truth that is nothing but fact and defines our character.

It can be argued that the truth is exaggerated, but that puts us in the realm of another type of truth, a truth that is a trait of entrepreneurs. It could be called vision truth. The reason it could be called vision truth is because it is a natural extension of being an entrepreneur.

The man will fly one day. Man will walk on the moon. Oceans will cross in hours, not days. These statements may seem hackneyed to you, but at some point they were considered ridiculous, exaggerated, or far from the truth.

At this point, they are taken for granted and discarded. In more recent times, we have witnessed how the computer age has been woven into our lives. The phrase, a computer on each desk, seemed far-fetched. The talking computers seemed very far away.

These were truths told by entrepreneurs who could clearly see the future, perhaps hard to believe at the time of mentioning, but truths yet to be realized.

This is the other kind of truth. Not just the truth that shapes the future of the day, the decade, or the century, but the truths that shape the direction of humanity. True entrepreneurs have such a clear view of the truth (future) that sarcastic comments are pushed aside as the visionary entrepreneur advances to embed their truth in society.

Richard Branson and Bill Gates tell a truth that is heard by billions of people. Walt Disney had such a strong vision that the truth about Mickey Mouse is undeniable, especially for a child.

It was this childhood dream that matured in vision and became true to be revealed to the rest of the world.

The truth must be told and the truth of your business vision must be defined so that the rest of us will accept it as truth.
