Analyze your options

Choosing topics to blog about doesn’t have to be a big task, but it does have to be done the right way. Choosing the right topic to blog about is a hit or miss for your business. You need your content to be attractive, whatever its purpose. When you make it really attractive to your readers, you will find people who share it from left to right and center.

So how do you choose a topic?

The easiest way is to break down the different purposes of your content, that is, what you are trying to achieve with what you are posting on your blog. People always complain and complain that they have nothing to blog about, or have a hard time coming up with ideas. The reason people don’t know what to write about is because they haven’t broken down their options and that’s what I’m going to explain now.

Option 1 – Instruct

The first option, or should I say the purpose of your content, is instructive. You can write about a particular topic and do it in an instructive way. Now this can be a step-by-step piece or it can be a bit more general, but these types of posts tend to be very structured and created in a way that people can very easily take action from them. For example, this might include a step-by-step blog post on how to set up a YouTube account, or it could be a post on how to change your car headlight bulbs. As with every piece of content you publish, it should be specific to the audience and give value to those who read it. As long as people find the value, they will be more than happy to share your content, and once it goes viral, it can create a huge influx of traffic to your blog.

Option 2 – Entertain

Sometimes people just want to be entertained, how you choose to do it is entirely up to you. Depending on the niche you are marketing in, entertaining people can be difficult, but it can also be easy. Personally, I like to include them every now and then, but I try to write in a way that makes people smile anyway, after all what’s the point if you’re not smiling?

Anyway there are different ways to do this, personally if you are going to make an entertaining piece, it is a good idea to use video because it is much easier to be entertained in my opinion. If you are in front of a camera, you will naturally find yourself entertained, or people will find your presentation skills amusing. Trust me when I say this, it’s not that bad, some very popular YouTube channels started with poorly presented videos.

Another option you have is to write a list of errors. This is one of those lists of things that ties into your niche and incessantly aggravates it. People will identify with these and find them funny at the same time, as long as they are tastefully written.

Option 3: rewrite content

Rewriting people’s content is fine, but this doesn’t mean you can plagiarize it either. If you are going to do this, you must add your own analysis and points, writing everything in your own style. It’s okay to use your ideas and expand on them, you can even link them to other external sources that people will find helpful. The internet is crying out for content and if you can expand the work that is already available then you are doing a great service to people in your niche.

Option 4 – Blog about what you learn

The easiest way to post new content is to simply write about what you learn. Learning is a continuous process, you must always learn new skills. In our case, it’s about learning how to market online, learning advertising skills, sales, content writing, the day-to-day running of the business, the list goes on. The point is, whenever you learn a new skill that relates to your niche, you should write about it. If you are already a source of knowledge, it shouldn’t be a problem. All you are doing is sharing your expertise within a particular topic, if you are not an expert yet become one, it really is that simple.
