The scoop on: the water wagon
This contraption was first unveiled to the public, accordingly, during the times of the World War. The water wagon back then was used by the military to serve as a threshold for drinking water resources during wartime. Soon, the wagon was used to serve people who have little or no source of clean, potable drinking water in their neighborhoods.
Today, people use the wagon for water supply services. Usually, and this is perfectly understandable, it’s the water filling stations that wagons use these days. Wagons are also sometimes used to facilitate garden and farm watering, as is done on stretches of lawn on golf courses.
Water wagon vs. Water Truck
Basically, there are two types of vehicles that are known to transport water to places. There is, of course, as we have known it a while ago, the wagon, and the other is the water truck. Now what is the difference between the two? Basically, it is with the size. Wagons are generally larger than tanker trucks. The tank truck would be sufficient to provide water for the purposes of classifying small to medium-sized buildings, as well as for the use of a small to medium-size water supply and filling station. On the other hand, the wagon is for heavier and larger-scale purposes, such as irrigating an entire community, maintaining moisture in large tracts of land, as well as compacting the soil for construction.
About the sizes of the water wagons
Water wagons come in a wide range of sizes depending on their capacity or load. The smallest wagons could carry 500 to about 1,000 to 2,000 gallons of water. On the other hand, railcars that are intended for community or larger-scale purposes often have considerably more capacity, ranging from 10,000 gallons, 80,000 gallons, and 600 to 700 barrels of water. There are also railcars with a size and capacity ranging from 3,000 gallons to around 5,000 gallons.
Where to buy water wagons
Water wagons are generally available for sale wherever trucks, heavy machinery, and large-scale construction and transportation equipment are sold. Wagons can also be rented or purchased on a lease, which can mean a drastic reduction in upfront costs, but will entitle the owner to monthly or annual rates, depending on their contract with the lessor.
