Winter is a great season for snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, and spending time indoors with whoever is closest to you. What winter is not good for is playing cornhole. We all know that cornhole is not the same indoors. Yes, you can set up a game of cornhole in a very large gym, warehouse, or basement with a high ceiling, but is it really the same game? I don’t think so and you can disagree with me.

Spring through fall is the time to set up your cornhole outside. In the spring, I play cornhole at MLB games with my friends (even my girlfriends). It fits in the trunk of your car and takes two minutes to set up: one minute to set up the kit and the other minute to count the 27 feet needed to play regulation cornhole. Since baseball games are as cheap as they are, this is an all-weekend event and one that won’t burn a hole in your pocket, either.

Summer is my favorite season for cornhole. You have baseball games, concerts, backyard barbecues, weekend get-togethers with friends, and all you need is a cornhole to play. This game goes along with all those festivities along with grilling burgers, tossing pigskin, and just enjoying the company of anyone who wants to have a little competition with their party.

Fall is a no-brainer about what to take your cornhole to: football games. I was turned into cornhole when I was 16 in Pittsburgh at the tailgate of a Pitt football game. While it originated in Ohio or Kentucky (there’s still fierce competition over who created the game) and while it doesn’t matter where it’s from, what we do know is that cornhole is now all over the country.

I live in Denver and when I was at the Monday Night Football game between the Steelers and the Broncos, I saw custom cornhole sets all over the parking lot. I asked around and most people had just paid for an awesome custom set of their favorite teams, but there were also people who put time and energy into painting and building their own sets. Trust me, there are some amazing sites out there that offer a quality product, so keep your eyes peeled for a great deal.

If you don’t have your own set yet, don’t worry, the season is just getting started. Do yourself a favor and save about $180 on a quality cornhole set and bags this cornhole season, you won’t be disappointed as all your friends will be complimenting your game. It also gives you bragging rights for an entire season, so enjoy this cornhole season in your gorgeous ensemble this year!
