You can tell NC State is feeling positive these days, but who isn’t, they’re coming off a four-game win streak leaving them second in the ACC standings with no fear anyone can come close at this point. Fortunately, coach Herb Sendek doesn’t plan to sit on this for the next few games.

They’re going to play Georgia Tech, and while 9-12 overall and second from last in the ACC standings at 2-8 and the fact that they’ve lost eight in a row doesn’t mean an easy win for Sendek, on the contrary, this it could mean that Tech is hungry for a win, and may be ready for a breakthrough. He sees a team that has played close opponents of late and fallen short: It lost at Florida State 80-79 on Thursday night, and lost by one at Virginia Tech and by two at Boston College before that.

Florida State, 19-4 overall and 8-2 in the ACC, trailed Tech at halftime in Game 1 and was still down 61-60 before taking control with a 12-2 rally to pull away in the last 10 minutes. Tech opened with a flurry, making 15 of his first 18 shots from the field.
Sendek said that he is happy with how the Wolfpack has responded to similar situations lately.
NC State has won two double-overtime games on the road in the last two weeks.

He began his four-game winning streak with a 94-85 win in double overtime at Clemson on Jan. 1. 29. Then, after tight home wins over Virginia and Maryland, he won in double overtime at Miami on Wednesday night 86-77.
