NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is a great persuasion tool to use. NLP involves the use of some simple but effective tricks to influence the people around you. It is a tool that works because it is a technique that resonates with the subconscious mind. When a person’s subconscious mind has set their sights on you, they are more likely to not only like you, but agree with you and follow your suggestions. There are many different ways to use NLP as a persuasive tool.

Names

Saying a person’s name during a conversation is just one way of using NLP as a tool of persuasion. When you say a person’s name, you automatically establish a connection with that person. In today’s society, it’s common for people to be “bad with names.” Don’t make the mistake of letting someone’s name slip out of your head! Pay attention during introductions and make a conscious effort to remember people’s names. Then during the conversation, use names! This will make the conversation more personal and the person will feel a stronger association with you than they would otherwise.

Duplication

Mirroring or mimicking your subject is also a great way to use NLP as a persuasive tool. Verbally repeat or recycle some of the words your subject uses. If you notice that your subject has a habit of adding the phrase “Do you know?” at the end of your sentences, then you can start adding that sentence to the end of your sentences as well. You can also try repeating the words a subject says. For example, if the subject says “It took three hours to get there”, then you can repeat the words “three hours!?” in exasperation. This is a normal thing for people to do in conversation, so it won’t seem out of the ordinary. Mirroring is a great NLP persuasion tool because it makes the subject subconsciously believe that you are similar to them.

assumptions

Another great technique for NLP as a persuasion tool is to use assumptions. If you are trying to use NLP as a persuasive tool to get a lady to go on a date with you, I would assume that she has already agreed to go on the date. You would never ask him “Do you want to go to the movies?” Instead, you’d say something like, “What kind of restaurant should we go to on Saturday night?” This assumes that the woman has already agreed to go out with you on Saturday. People are much less likely to disagree with things they are already supposed to be doing. NLP is a great persuasion tool. You can use NLP by saying your subject’s name, mirroring their words, or using guesswork. All of these things affect a person’s subconscious mind, which is the hot spot when it comes to persuasion.
