Tru Chocolate is a company that offers chocolate that is supposedly healthy and also gives people an income opportunity through network marketing. They’ve gained a lot of buzz for their claim to have healthy chocolate (who wouldn’t want to lose weight eating chocolate?), but the real question is simply this: is Tru Chocolate the real deal or just another scam? Let’s take a look.

Tru Chocolate – The Good

Tru Chocolate is a branch of the Tru Nutrition company, which is actually part of Youngevity. His company is led by Dr. Joel Wallach, an ND, who focuses on natural ways to heal the body of illness and disease.

The product itself is organic unsweetened chocolate that uses a sweetener called “Xylitol”. The list of benefits ranges from regulating insulin and blood sugar levels to weight loss. There is no doubt that they have a very particular tone: who would like to lose weight eating chocolate?

They use a Unilevel compensation model, which means that you build three distribution “legs” below you and then try to build three legs below them, and so on. Registration is relatively low: just $10, but you also need to buy a minimum of 6 bags of chocolate (each bag has 15 pieces), and the price per bag is $30, with a dealer price of $21/bag.

Tru Chocolate – The other side of the coin

Tru Chocolate is a network marketing business, like many NWM companies, they advocate using friends and family to grow their organization. Handing out free product samples, making three-way calls with your upline, handing out flyers, and going to house parties—these are all very common parts of warm marketing, and for the most part, people don’t like to do those things. Instead, you could use destination marketing strategies and methods to grow a much larger organization much faster, without all the hassles of warm marketing.

Tru Chocolate is a legitimate opportunity, but to be successful, I recommend that you invest time and energy in learning how to create effective marketing systems that attract people who are looking for the benefits of Tru Chocolate.
